Another group is handling the trails. Enjoy your ride.

The Big Dipper

- Conceived by John vanBaal, and built By JvB and John Bolton, this is the only half-pipe in Ontario (or so we've been told). If you want to get some air, do it at the Dipper.

Mr.Skinny-

This dead tree has now been made into a 25 foot, 4 inch wide skinny bridge. It's about 3 feet off the ground. Not for the beginner rider. Don't want to fall off Mr. Skinny? Try Son of Skinny...he's on the ground!

Mr.Wiggly-

He twists, he turns, he's 110 feet of various widths and sizes. We keep adding to him a little at a time. As we like to say, "Come on out to 'The Burgh' and ride Mr. Wiggly".

Ride the dirt-

The trails at the Charlottenburgh Forest Mountain Bike Area will have a little something for everyone. The outside loop is fun to ride with lots of dips and logs and rocks. For a real challenge take on M-Line, MIA and the new extension to The Spine (we call it the ghost trail). We're sure you'll enjoy the fast downhill rides as well.

If you're not into riding the bridges and teeters, don't worry there's always a way around everything.

Double D-

We're not really sure how long Double D is but it's at least as long as Mr. Wiggly. Located at the bottom of MIA (download the trail map), Mike St.Amour and his gang of misfits worked hard to put this ladder bridge, stair descent, twisty turny, too big to get in one picture stunt together. MIA now has a very steep narrow teeter-totter, 2 narrow log crossings, many twists and turns and now Double D. Check it out!

Miss Calculations-

It's the new stunt at 'The Burgh' and it will surely give your suspension a good test. Mike named it 'Miss Calculations', and we hope you don't miscalculate this new addition to the trails. It's a drop of a little over 6 feet with a transition at the bottom but it looks a lot higher because it's on the side of a hill. Look for it right after JvB's log ride.

Just a word of advice... If you're not an experienced rider, stay off this stunt!

WEAR A HELMET!

It is stated quite clearly on the sign at the entrance to the property, but every time I'm on the trails I come across someone who isn't wearing a helmet. Here's a prediction...you will fall if you mountain bike, I guarantee it! I fall and I think I'm a pretty good rider. I do not want the future of our mountain bike trails compromised by foolish people who think they can tempt fate. It only takes one serious head injury to ruin it for everyone. Please wear a helmet whenever you ride, too much is at stake...your well being, and our trails.

See the guy in the action photo to the right? He's a good mountain biker and he fell, you could too. WEAR A HELMET!

Know your limitations!

We have placed many 'Ride at your own risk' signs on the trails, and more will be posted in the future. Most of these signs are located near bridges and other structures. I would suggest you heed the warnings and steer clear if you aren't experienced on a bike. These signs are meant to alert you to possible danger and we hope you know when to say no when it comes to attempting something beyond your experience. We have done everything possible to make the trails safe, but we want to make sure you know your limitations and you make decisions that will ensure a safe and pleasurable ride that doesn't end up in the Emergency room.
